你是怎么开始从事艺术创作的？

我从记事起就开始画画了。我的母亲是一名平面设计师，我的父亲是一名电影制作人，我的继父是一名建筑师/承包商，所以我在这种创造性的影响下长大，在很小的时候就开始从事艺术创作。大约在十岁的时候，我开始跳舞，并在高中期间非常认真地追求它，所以这是我背景的主要部分。当我开始具象绘画时，我在舞蹈中发展出来的词汇就被完全翻译出来了。它对我的画从何而来以及我为什么要画这些画有着巨大的影响。观察和解读身体语言让我着迷。我爱上了绘画和舞蹈，因为它们能够表达出仅凭语言无法表达或感受的东西，以及它们如何为复杂性和多样性保留了空间。绘画具有突出、延伸和保持观众对特定时刻的参与的能力，但同时也保持了时间的深度饱和。

你现在在做什么？

是什么激励你开始做这方面的工作？

我总是喜欢画人们相互拥抱的画面，同时强调拥抱和身体接触的情感交流。我在两年前就开始关注这种拥抱式的设计了（我现在还看不到结束的迹象）。我痴迷于制作这些图像。至于其他系列，我也在新冠大流行之前就开始了这项工作，但现在我们都经历了这一年，这项工作有了新的意义和重要性。今年有如此多的集体悲伤被放大了。此外，在过去的6个月里，我的家人多次失去亲人，所以这份工作也是非常个人化的。这是我处理悲伤的方式之一。

你工作室的日常生活是怎样的？

日子看起来并不总是一样的。我同时处理许多作品，它们在开发阶段各不相同。对我来说，能够跳来跳去很重要，这样一件作品就不会过度劳累，或者我能够在作品干燥的时候移到另一件作品上，等等。我喜欢所有的模式在我的指尖，当进入工作室的每一天。我每天的工作可能包括伸展画布，用炭笔勾勒构图的想法，在一件作品开始展开的中间阶段进行创作，或者只是盯着一件作品，试图判断它是否完成了。作为画家的一半，也是作为观者。我花了大量的时间去观察和回应我的作品（当我向后看时，会被工作室里的东西绊倒，哈哈！）此外，持续的运动/舞蹈休息是我日常生活和练习的重要部分！

你最喜欢的艺术家是谁？

Alice Neel、Francis Picabia、R. B. Kitaj、David Hockney、Kerry James Marshall、Nicole Eisenman 和 Nick Cave 等等。而就目前的一些同时代的画家而言，在与他们的交谈中，我感到了强烈的联系，如 Naudline Pierre、Anja Salonen、Janiva Ellis、Haley Joseph、Maja Ruznic 和 Coady Brown 。
